The Loadout's Call of Duty MW3 review took a look at the overall campaign and weapon loadouts and scored the overall experience a 6 out of 10. The PCGamesN MW3 review, says of the main campaign that the reviewer was "left both puzzled and deflated when the credits rolled."

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3’s is now on Season 3 as of April 23, 2024. A few bugfixes and changes were introduced in the latest update to resolve a number of exploits that let players gain an unfair advantage when using Rear Grips on Handguns. The developer Sledgehammer Games also added additional collision to three of the available maps due to a number of players who were able to reach areas they should not have been able to, and exploit the inadvertant and advantageous locations.
