Can I Run Destiny 2?
Destiny 2 system requirements state that you will need at least 6 GB of RAM, but 8 GB is recommended. The minimum GPU you can play the game on is equivalent to an AMD Radeon HD 7850. However, an AMD Radeon R9 390 or equivalent is recommended by developers Bungie. The minimum CPU required is equivalent to an Intel Pentium G4560, but Bungie recommends a CPU greater or equal to an Intel Core i5-2400. The Destiny 2 download size is around 105 GB.
The latest and fifth expansion pack for the game, Destiny 2 Beyond Light, which adds a new planet to explore, plus a new campaign and challenges. This expansion has not changed the system requirements of the game, but it's worth nothing that you'll need 69.7GB free storage space to download the expansion.
Destiny 2 PC is the definitive way to play the game, offering full support for 4K, 21:9 ultrawide, and HDR monitors. Destiny 2’s frame rate allows 60fps or more despite its modest hardware demands, which makes the console versions (locked to 30fps) look juddery by comparison.
With a generally favourable Metacritic Metascore of 83 from critics but a generally unfavourable User Score of 3.9 from players, Destiny 2 has always had both ardent fans and passionate detractors. Yet Steam’s free to play option finally gives anyone interested a ‘try before they buy’ option, and its ongoing expansions prove the Destiny 2 experience will be one set to be supported well into the future.
The Destiny 2 Free to play model means the base game is free, but expansions such as Shadowkeep and Beyond Light are paid for.
