Guild Wars 2 System Requirements

To run the Guild Wars 2 requirements as of the Janthir Wilds update, you will need an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 GPU, an Intel Core i3-4130 CPU, 8GB of RAM, and 70GB of HDD space. 

The Guild Wars 2 system requirements are set very low in comparison to most modern games, however the overall requirements will be increasing from the classic low as of August 20, 2024. 

On August 20, the new expansion - the Janthir Wilds - is set to hugely expand on this masive MMORPG, and bring with it a considerable but easily achievable increase in hardware requirements. Fortunately, unless your PC or laptop are the equivalent of potatoes, you should have no issues meeting the new Guild Wars 2 PC requirements. 

Even an older setup should be able to meet the Guild Wars 2 minimum requirements, which call for an AMD Radeon HD 7970 graphics card or equivalent, an Intel Core i3-4130 processor or AMD quad core processor with 3.8GHz clockspeed, and 8GB of RAM. From the original requirements, this is a considerable leap, but still pits the game much lower than many modern releases in terms of hardware demand.

Currently, the developer has not released any official Guild Wars 2 recommended specs, implying that the game will run at its best (or at least how the developers intend it to run) on the minimum requirements alone.

Until the release of the Janthir Wilds, you'll be able to play the game by meeting the original Guild Wars 2 minimum specs of an NVIDIA GeForce 6100 GPU, an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 CPU, and 4GB of RAM.

The Guild Wars 2 download size for PC currently sits at 50GB of HDD space, however this will expand to 70GB of HDD space on August 20, 2024 with the release of the Janthir Wilds expansion. The game does not require an SSD to function, but we would recommend installing the game onto an SSD anyway to improve your overall load times between areas and when first booting up the game.
