The game is incredibly acccessible considering the Norland minimum requirements only call for an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card, an Intel Core i3-8100 processor, and 8GB of RAM. The graphics card alone released in 2016, meaning PCs that were considered mid-range in the last eight years leading up to Norland's release should have no issues running the game. However, given the nature of Norland's design, you may encounter lag and FPS issues if you do not meet a higher benchmark. More specifically, make sure you have a good CPU, because Norland will be quite CPU intensive.

To meet the Norland recommended specs, you will need an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 GPU, an Intel Core i5-1300F CPU, and 8GB of RAM. This isn't a considerable increase from the minimum requirements, but it should allow you to run Norland smoothly. Of course, if you build a large enough kingdom, even this benchmark might not be enough. A modern processor like the Intel Core i5-12500 CPU should be more than you ever need to run the game, no matter how big your settlement becomes or how numerous your populace grows.

Norland size

The Norland download size for PC comes in at 1GB of HD space. However, considering the nature of the game is very similar to Rimworld, you'll likely want to set a few GBs aside should your kingdom employ a vast swath of mods.

Norland release date

The Norland release date has been set for July 18, 2024. This is following a Norland delay which was announced by the developer on May 2, 2024. According to the developer, more time is needed to test and optimize the game as it "doesn’t perform as well as it should." Hopefully, the additional two months that the developer has called for (as the original release date was set for May 16, 2024) will give them all the time they need to polish what many are hoping to be a medieval successor to Rimworld.
