Can I Run Phasmophobia?
The Phasmophobia system requirements are subject to change, as it is an Early Access Game. However, developer Kinetic Games has provided the system requirements to enable the game's VR mode, which should be treated as recommended specifications with older CPUs and GPUs likely being capable of running a spooky session.
To get up close and personal with the other side, you'll need a minimum of an Intel Core i5-4590 or AMD FX 8350 processor. However, to render all the ghosts in their ghoulish glory, you'll need an Nvidia GTX 970 or AMD Radeon R9 290 graphics card.
8GB of RAM is all you'll need to begin your séance, in addition to 16GB of storage space on your HDD or SDD for all those essential ghost hunting tools.
Phasmophobia Steam
Phasmophobia is currently available to download on Steam through early access. At the moment, the game isn't available on the Epic Game Store or Microsoft Store, but that could change in the future.
Phasmophobia VR mode
Phasmophobia VR mode uses the SteamVR, meaning it's compatible with various headsets, including Valve Index, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift & Microsoft Mixed Reality. To play Phasmophobia in VR mode, you'll need to launch the game through SteamVR, rather than using any pre-existing shortcuts. Once the game launches, you can use the options menu to access VR Settings and customise controls.
Phasmophobia Update
The latest news on a Phasmophobia Update is the Halloween Update. It will add a new 'Nightmare' difficulty mode and two new ghost types, as well as some yet to be released additions to the game.
You can keep up to date on all the latest Phasmophobia developments on the developer's public Trello board.
