Can I run Warframe?
To run the Warframe requirements, you will need an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 GPU, an Intel Core i7 860 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 50GB of available HDD or SSD space.
The Warframe system requirements aren't a difficult feat to overcome as the game is not particularly demanding when installed on your PC or laptop. Even older rigs should be able to run the game with minimal effort, especially as the game has no recommended specs. It is worth mentioning, however, that the game requires Windows 10 and upwards, having been able to run on older OS systems prior to 2024.
To meet the Warframe minimum requirements, all you will need is an AMD FX-4100 CPU, an NVIDIA GeForce 1050 GPU or similar DirectX 11 compatible card, and 4GB of RAM. As far as benchmarks go, Warframe is incredibly accessible, but your overall system performance will be largely dependent on the strength of your internet connection.
Warframe size
The Warframe download size on PC currently sits at 50GB of HDD or SSD space. While an SSD is not stated as a requirement, we generally recommend installing the game onto an SSD anyway to ensure you get the best in-game performance, particularly when encountering loading screens or when booting up the game. So, if you need more space or want to make an upgrade, check the PCGamesN buyers guide for the best SSD for gaming.
Warframe FPS Boost
If you're not getting a good framerate in Warframe, here are some tips for boosting Warframe FPS.
- Turn as many of the toggleable graphical options off as you can until you reach a decent Warframe framerate - for example Nvidia PhsyX effects, Local Reflections etc.
- Disable Motion Blur, this is known to have a significant impact on the FPS
- Disable any background applications such as Game DVR or GeForce Experience
- Set Windows power saving mode to 'High Performance'
