Can I run World of Warcraft?
To meet the World of Warcraft system requirements, you will need an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 900 series GPU, an Intel Core i5-750 or better, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of SSD space.
World of Warcraft or WoW is almost certainly one of the most well-known MMORPGs of all-time, and has gone through a significant number of changes, expansions and more, which have in turn increased the WoW PC requirements. Fortunately, even the latest iteration of WoW hardware demands aren't particularly challenging to meet, even on older laptops and PCs.
As of 2025, the WoW minimum requirements demand a 4th Gen Intel Iris graphics card, a 4 core processor with 3.0GHz or better, and 8GB of RAM. Thisis an incredibly accessible level of hardware that most older laptops should be able to meet without difficulty. If anything, the greatest challenge you will ever face with getting WoW to run comes down to your internet connection.
In order to play the game on the highest graphics settings and meet the WoW recommended specs, you will need an NVIDIA GeForce RTX card with 8GB of VRAM (any will do), an Intel Core i7-4770 CPU or equivalent, and 16GB of RAM.
While there is no exact speed recommendation from Blizzard, you will want an internet connection that is 10Mbps or better. 25Mbps is generally the best place to be if you can push to it.
World of Warcraft size - How big is WoW in 2025?
The World of Warcraft download size for PC is an initial 128GB of SSD space. Unfortunately, a HDD is no longer compatible with WoW, so an SSD is a hard requirement.
So, if you need more space or want to make an upgrade, check the PCGamesN buyers guide for the best SSD for gaming. There is no World of Warcarft Steam release, as it is available exclusively through Blizzard's own Battle.net launcher.
