Can I run Oblivion?
To run the remastered Oblivion requirements, you will need an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti GPU, an Intel Core i7-6800K CPU, 16GB of RAM, and up to 125GB of SSD space.
You will be able to meet the Oblivion minimum requirements with little more than an AMD Radeon RX 5700 graphics card or similar on a Windows 10 system, so long as you also have an AMD Ryzen 5 2600X processor and 16GB of RAM or equivalent. This is just about enough to get most modern games running, and the remaster, which isn't the same as a remake, doesn't demand much from modern laptops and computers.
However, the Oblivion recommended specs call for more powerful hardware along the lines of an AMD Radeon RX 6800XT GPU, an Intel Core i5-10600K CPU, and 32GB of RAM. Ultimately, the graphics we've seen are significantly better than Skyrim - certainly better than the original Oblivion - and this will require some beefy hardware to render correctly, but the 32GB requirement is a bit of a surprise!
As for the Oblivion ultra specs, well, best of luck! The game is... less than optimized from what many players have discovered, and even the best Oblivion settings struggle to maintain a stable performance on the game's highest graphics setttings. But, from what we've found, you can just about achieve the Oblivion ultra requirements with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 GPU, an Intel Core i9-14900K CPU, and 32GB of RAM. This sounds like an absurd level of hardware, because it is. Oblivion genuinely requires some of the best and latest hardware out there to run at its best without mods or adjusting the in-game settings.

Oblivion size - How big is the Oblivion remaster?
The Oblivion download size on PCs and laptops demands 125GB of SSD space, with consoles requiring a similar amount of space.
Bethesda games are rarely small, but the remastered world of Oblivion is much bigger than the original 6GB of HD space needed by the 2009 GOTY edition given all the graphical improvements. In fact, the current answer to "how long is Oblivion?" sits at 28 hours just for the main quest, and 85 hours for the main quest and all side missions.
So, if you need more space or want to make an upgrade, check the PCGamesN buyers guide for the best SSD for gaming or just check the latest, best prices for SSDs.
Oblivion Steam Deck
According to Steam, the Oblivion Steam Deck rating sits at the coveted "Verified" ranking, meaning it should run without compromise on Valve's handheld platform. That said, many users are reporting that the game does not run particularly well on the Steam Deck, requiring the game to be tuned down to the lowest settings in order to achieve a smooth 30FPS.
This isn't too surprising given the game's base requirements, which have proven challenging for the Oblivion Steam Deck.
Oblivion Game Pass
With the game receiving a massively positive Metacritic rating, many gamers were curious if Bethesda had any plans to bring their remaster to Game Pass. Luckily, despite what could have been anticipated as guaranteed sales for this classic RPG, the developer decided to make the remake available via Game Pass. So, if you haven't already picked up a copy of the game, you can find it available via the Oblivion Game Pass.
