Can I Run GTA 6?

To run the GTA 6 system requirements, we predict you will need an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 GPU, an Intel Core i5-6600K CPU, 12GB of RAM, and 150GB of SSD space.

PCGameBenchmark has performed millions of tests on PCs and systems, analyzed all of the latest hardware, and tracked changes in system requirements for thousands of games. As such, while no official GTA 6 PC requirements have been outlined by Rockstar, we've analyzed the game's trailers, the chipsets inside current-gen consoles, and all the latest gameplay leaks to predict what the Grand Theft Auto VI system requirements will likely look like for May 2026.

Taking everything we've seen so far into account, we estimate that you will meet the GTA 6 minimum requirements if you have an Intel Core i5-6600K CPU, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 GPU, and 12GB of RAM. This level of hardware should be high enough to get you up and running in the fictional state of Leonida, but you won't see any graphical quality on par with what we've seen in trailers or gameplay leaks.

To ensure you can play the game the way the developers likely intend, and potentially meet the GTA 6 recommended specs, we estimate you'll need an Intel Core i7-10700 CPU, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 GPU, and 16GB of RAM. We first saw an RTX 2080 SUPER graphics card in use during what appeared to be leaked playtesting, which, if true, makes it very likely that Rockstar will recommend a similar or better graphics card to play the game when it does eventually come to PC.

The GTA 6 requirements for laptop will demand just as much from your machine. So long as your laptop has a GPU on par with an RTX 3070 Ti laptop graphics card, you shouldn't have any issues running the game on a Windows 10 OS or higher device.

GTA 6 size - How big is Grand Theft Auto 6?

Our estimated GTA 6 size for download on PC comes in at 150GB of SSD storage. This estimate is based on Rockstar's previous Grand Theft Auto experience which required just over 100GB of space on PC and consoles alike.

With the estimated storage size demand being so high, we further estimate that an SSD will be part of the game's specs. This shouldn't be too surprising to many, considering the ever-increasing presence of SSDs in the minimum requirements for many new games. So, if you need more space or want to make an upgrade, check the PCGamesN buyers guide for the best SSD for gaming or just check the latest, best prices for SSDs.

GTA 6 release date

The GTA 6 release date is set for Friday, May 26, 2026 for Xbox and PlayStation following an official delay. A GTA 6 release date for PC has not yet been set, but the port is expected to arrive up to one year after the initial Xbox and PlayStation release.

GTA 6 Steam

Rockstar has remained tight-lipped about the entire development process behind their latest project, and has yet to announce which platforms the game will be available on. Given RDR2's presence on Steam, many have wondered if the latest Grand Theft Auto experience will also launch on Steam when the game does finally come to PC. While Rockstar's previous entry in the Grand Theft Auto franchise, Grand Theft Auto V, did see a Steam release, it's unclear if a GTA 6 Steam page will materialize in the wake of the game's release.
